Love this, just wish it was able to get power from the AUX port, instead of having to charge it. I have the power constantly connected.

This is a fantastic product for the money. I have an '05 Mercedes that has a single AUX port in the glove box but no hands free package. To purchase a bluetooth kit for these cars, you are looking at well over $700 to add the special cradle and box special for iPhone. With that, the phone would live in the console and would not be usable for maps or interactivity. No thank you.I set out to look for a product that took the AUX port and made it a bluetooth port. Low and behold, here is this little guy that does exactly that. I was shocked to see the low price as well. I figured I couldn't lose so I bought one.I love it.I mainly wanted something for my audio dilemma. I converted all my CD's to digital some time ago so everything I have is now either local to an iPod or on cloud services via my phone. I have a long commute so having books on tape or music I like is essential for my sanity. It does my audio justice: It sounds amazing on the Mark Levinson stereo system. The connection is digital so the quality of the audio is outstanding. No loss of audio quality in the slightest. I control the audio from my phone which is in a cradle on the windscreen. This is also legal in my state so that is a win.The bonus is the hands-free option. It works well and the microphone is very good. People can hear my voice clearly. Here is where it loses a star though: They did not include echo-cancellation for some reason. What a bummer! So the microphone picks up the callers voice through the car speakers and that causes a terrible echo for the caller. (How annoying when that happens to you, huh?) So I just turn the volume way down on the car stereo and that helps a bit but what a shame that they did not incorporate that into the product. Regardless, it works like a charm and it does do the job, it's just not as pleasant for the caller.I installed it right above my steering wheel column so the mic is pointed at my face while driving. It's a good location based on its size and it does not block the gauges at all. I wired the audio jack under the dash so it is completely hidden. It looks really good when it is mounted cleanly. NO WIRES! I did have to use a 1/8" audio extension cable but that is because I had some tricky routing to get it to the glove box. The audio cable it comes with is really long so most people likely won't have this problem. If you do, it's a simple fix: Get a 1/8" audio cable extension. They are under $10. The Velcro sticker it comes with works great when mounted flat, even in the heat. It will not come off. I can see an issue if it is mounted vertically though.I thought about hard wiring it to the cigarette lighter circuit, but I decided to hold off to see just how long the battery will last. Well, I've had the product about three weeks now and it has not needed a charge at all. I'm waiting to see when it dies so I know just how long it will last. I use it every day (even on weekends) and it's still going! I keep a USB aux plug in the car along with their supplied cable so I'll be good to go in case it dies on me in the commute. It's not inconvenient to remove it once a month to plug it into a computer or in a cigarette port.I read a lot of complaints about it not auto-turning on when plugged into a power source. I get that and I agree that it should have been designed to do that because for those that hard wire and hide wires like me, it would have been a perfect situation where I would wire it to the ignition source. Again, I'm going on almost a month without a charge so I would say this is not worth dropping a star over it.So when I get into the car and I have my phone with me, I simply hold down the power button for a few seconds. It plays an audible chime and beeps twice to let you know it has connected with your device. After that, I just let it do its thing. When I get out of the car, I do nothing. I verified that it has an auto-shut off after disconnecting with a Bluetooth Device. I'm not sure how long that timer is but what a great feature! If I had to manually turn it off, I surmise that the battery life would be terrible.PRO's--Easy InstallationQuality Audio PlaybackExcellent battery lifeSmall form factorDecent cable lengthsAuto Shut-OffCON'S--Does not auto-connectDoes not have auto-power upCables are short if you hide under the dash professionallyShameful lack of noise echo during phone calls. In the end, this device does mostly what it promises and for the money, I feel I got what I expected. I'm extremely happy.
